Nghệ thuật đương đại, từ một thế kỷ nay, đã nhấn mạnh một số khái niệm mới về vẻ đẹp. Thật vậy, thẩm mỹ đương đại luôn đắn đo giữa cái Đẹp và Xấu, giữa Sảng khoái và Ghê tởm.

Pierre và Gilles, hai tâm hồn đồng điệu. Một người chụp hình, người kia vẽ. Họ bổ sung lẫn nhau, và họ yêu nhau... Hơn hai mươi năm, cả hai không thể tách rời,... Họ làm thăng hoa những người mẫu, diễn viên, ca sĩ nổi tiếng hoặc vô danh. Những tác phẩm được hoan nghênh khắp nơi, thế giới kitsch (lập dị) đầy đam mê, mánh khóe,... Những lời chỉ trích họ không hề lịch sự, nhưng thành công vẫn cứ ngự trị.

Họ gặp nhau năm 1976, khi đó Pierre chụp ảnh đen trắng còn Gilles là một họa sĩ vẽ màu. "Trong một buổi tiệc chúng tôi lần đầu nói chuyện với nhau, chúng tôi uống hơi quá, chúng tôi rất khác nhau, nhưng chúng tôi hợp với nhau...

"Để giải khuây, chúng tôi chụp hình bạn bẻ đang nhăn mặt trên nền màu rực rỡ. Vì lý do màu sắc không bao giờ đậm như ý của chúng tôi, Gilles lại cầm cọ lên... Và thế là bắt đầu nghề nghiệp.

"Mọi thứ đều lẫn lộn với nhau, cuộc sống, hình ảnh, công việc, bạn bè, du lịch, bài hát, và chúng không thể tách rời nhau nữa...

"Những người chúng tôi chụp hình rất khác nhau, cả nổi tiếng lẫn vô danh: chính là nhân cách của họ và tình yêu người khác dành cho họ được đem đến chỗ chúng tôi và chúng tôi làm cho nó sống lại, viết lại câu chuyện.

Chúng tôi đóng vai người tường thuật và đi đến một thế giới khác, chúng tôi mang theo những hình ảnh của những người mà chugns tôi đã gặp mặt; đó là một thế giới tưởng tượng, song song với thế giới hiện hữu."

Piere sinh ở Vendée, Roche-sur-Yon. 13 tuổi, anh hát ở casino Luchon. Anh học ở Geneve và tham gia quân dịch ở Provins. Năm 1973, anh đến Paris để thực hiện loạt ảnh đầu tiên cho tạp chí thời trang và âm nhạc.

Gilles sinh ở Havre trong một gia đình 8 anh em. 15 tuổi, anh nhập học ở Học viện Nghệ thuật và tốt nghiệp loại xuất sắc. Năm 1973, anh đến Paris để vẽ tranh, thực hiện tranh dán giấy và tranh minh họa cho tạp chí và quảng cáo.

Đêp thì có đẹp đó. Nhưng mình kg đồng tình với việc sữ dụng nền hình là tôn giáo/ Như vậy thể hiện sự thiếu tôn trọng tín ngưởng và niềm tin của con người. Có thể nói mình cho đó là sự sĩ nhục. Theo mình nếu có thể, nhà họa sĩ nên tìm cám hứng mới NGOÀI TÔN GIÁO RA
